Well it is better than my Onkyo. That thing broke in 2 years with mild use. Dont the long term relieability but for now its OK

I was looking for a lower end receiver that could use HDMI audio and according to the user manual for the RX-V365 it can’t play HDMI audio through the speakers. You would have to connect separate optical cables to the source components.
I have a HDMI DirecTV, HDMI computer, and a HDMI LCD TV. Some company must understand that it’s a waste to put component and even composite video on a receiver. Actually, so is the FM (and AM?) receiver. This is for a second LCD screen in my home, so am looking for something optimized for modern equipment.

Unit worked well for a week and then failed (turned off within 10 secs. and could not be reset). It was returned without any problem and a new unit ordered. So far, the replacement has worked as expected.

Nice, but being very new to Home Theater, I wanted HDMI all the way, but this has cheap wiring clasps in the back that you have to noodle your exposed wiring in to each clasp. This sucks, Reminds me of a very cheap product by an unknown brand from ten years ago.
Once you get thru that, it is a very nice product and for the price, you cant go wrong. But I would advise myself and others, pay the extra few and get something awesome.

I started off on the wrong foot from the start. 1. by buying from BB 2. listening to one of the sales reps and not doing my own research. What they didnt tell me was that you can run hdmi cables but still have to run rca or coax cables just for sound. Yes, you can buy them for a couple bucks, but thats not the point. Another thing that made me take it back to the store, was the number of hdmi inputs, or lack of. Only two. Most people have cbale, dvd/blueray, and a game console. In my case, two. They had to be ran with the RCA wires, one to the front, and one to back. THAT LOOKED HORRIBLE. There are about fifty recievers on sale that have more hdmi inputs and recieves the audio through the hdmi cables. Like I said in the begining, lack of research on my part. Yamaha’s WORST RECIEVER.
