Panasonic SC-BT300 1250W 7.1 Channel Blu-ray Disc Home Theater Sound System
I ordered this item as a Christmas gift for the family. I followed all of the instruction to the letter. The first thing is to arrange the speakers and mount them. I also took the time to run the wires through the walls and ceiling to hide them. When I got to the last step, which is powering the unit on, I found out that it did not have any power at all.
I called Panasonic, and all they would do is assign me a case number and tell me to take it to a repair shop 30 miles from my house. Once I got to the repair shop, they didn’t have time to look at it, so I had to leave it till the next day. They have now confirmed that it is defective, and must be returned to Panasonic.
I did call Amazon, and they stood behind the warranty. A replacement item has been sent out. Now a trip back to the repair shop to pick up the defective uit, and return it to Amazon. I also get to tear out all of the work I have done and send it back. Can you tell I’m excited?
As far as the functionality, can’t tell you anything about that until I get one that works. I will say that I got a great deal on Amazon as far as price is concerned.
I will update the review after I receive the replacement unit.

I purchased this product and went on to download the update, carefully following the instructions. Everything seemed fine. The player updated and did shut down. I waited about ten minutes and an error message came up. Then the unit shut down forever. The people at Panasonic could not help me and simply said that I had to send the unit back. Please, be aware that this technology is not working very well yet. It is happening with similar products across the board. Now I have all these speakers and no main unit. Don’t purchase this product. The price looked too good to be true. It proved right. Cx!

For all you idiots and nickapoos that want to rate this product a 1-star OR 2-star OR even a 3-star, think again. For anyone who wants a powerful and loud HTS, this is the one. It sure as hell sounds like a 1250W HTS. Im a college student with this in my dorm!!! It is so powerful that you can hear this through other people’s rooms! And yes, i have had complaints (4 times). And I only had this HTS for 2 weeks now. Getting girls in my room isn’t a problem, as i hasn’t been before, so adding this HTS to my room just tops it off. I have a Samsung 46′ LED 1080p 240Hz to go with this HTS and the picture is perfect! Yes i have blu-ray movies and a HDMI cord to go along with it. The volume goes up to 50, and i can only go up to 25-30 because its that loud in this dorm.
My only problem with this HTS are the surround sound options. It either says “multi-channel 7.1 surround”, “doulby surround”, or “standard”. I dont know what produces the better sound so Im confused.
This HTS also comes with a ipod dock, where you can play your ipod music! Heres more, you can play your ipod/mp3 music whenever and as loud as you want while you watch TV!!!!!!!! I don’t know what else

Not that I am an audio snob, but this unit doesn’t have the sound to live up to the picture…..get the best of one world and really weak sound….the subwoofer and speaker wire set up is deplorable…..mine will be returned immediately.
