Leslie_Leslie says that the image can’t zoom or focus? Is this true? I know it does not do this electronically, but I would think that you can turn the lens manually to zoom and focus.

    thanks

This projector is great for a first time projectionist. Great picture and very easy to use! As said in previous reviews, the picture actually gets better after a week or two. It’s a great picture right out of the box, but it’s like the bulb gets broken in after a some use and the picture looks even brighter. Great buy!

  3. On a dollar for quality basis, I doubt this projector can be beat. Image quality is fantastic, brightness is good and the device itself is reasonably quiet.

The only complaint I have is that the remote control. The remote is backlit, which in and of itself is a good thing, but the backlighting rivals the projector bulb for lumen output. When the lights are off, as they will be when you use a projector, the backlighting of the remote will blind you.

Not a big deal though, since you’ll only use the remote to setup the projector once. After that it is only used to turn the projector on and off.

  5. I just hooked up Optoma HD20 couple of weeks ago and my blu-ray DVD watching experience is great so far. Just like most of reviewers here I did some research prior to settling on this particular brand. I was looking at most basic ones in the lower price range and reviews from consumer-reports, projectorcentral and user reviews from many of popular on-line stores prompted me to buy this one. Once this projector was mounted onto ceiling- browsing menu and setting up was easy. Manual comes with clear instructions. Picture quality at 1080p is excellent and very impressive. So far we’re only going watch movies on this projector. I’m using 100″ screen and projecting from about 11’9″ away. Note that this projector does not provide much of flexibility in shifting lens etc. hence careful planing is required between setting up the screen and mounting projector process. Also I have posted my review on mounting device that I used to mount this projector up on ceiling if anyone is interested.
